Community Development Officer – Rothbury Estate

Northumberland Wildlife Trust

We are looking for an experienced community organiser and facilitator to work with our Wild City
team in Rothbury as Community Development Officer. In this exciting role, you’ll be at the
heart of community action, building relationships and understanding community needs,
aspirations and concerns. You’ll reach out to and listen to residents, local organisations and
stakeholders to support the project team in shaping a long-term plan for the estate – one that
respects its heritage and supports livelihoods.

You’ll lead conversations, conduct one-to-one interviews, facilitate group discussions, and
actively build connections across the community. A background in community organising, group
facilitation, social sciences, or a related field would be ideal – but above all, we’re looking
for someone with the ability to listen, connect and facilitate.

The role is for 35 hours per week on an 18 month contract. NWT operates a flexitime system.

The salary range is £25,309 – £28,459 per annum.

An application form and full job pack can be found on our website. Please note CV’s cannot be accepted.
