The Position and Its Qualifications
As an Intern, you’ll work closely with members of Geneva Global Headquarters and our teams in Ethiopia and Uganda who are responsible for the implementation of programs in the areas of education and other development sectors.
Your contributions will include:
Program Design & Implementation Support
- Engaging with Geneva Global’s in-country teams in Ethiopia and Uganda to learn from and support education programs.
- Assisting in documenting and evaluating the effectiveness of education interventions.
- Contributing to research efforts that inform Geneva Global’s program strategy, including global education trends and philanthropic approaches to education development.
Content Development & Communications
- Developing content, including blogs, case studies and success stories, working with country team members to gather information, conduct interviews, and draft written products.
- Supporting the preparation of regular newsletters with drafting of stories and updates, formatting, copy-editing, and more.
- Contributing to social media content and press releases as needed.
Technical and administrative support
- Helping manage shared education program archives.
- Supporting the creation and production of various technical documents and producing summaries of the same.
- Supporting the preparation of proposals with background research, drafting of sections, formatting, copy-editing, and more.
- Collaborating on the preparation of presentations and other relevant materials for meetings with country teams and key stakeholders.
- Participating as a peer contributor, learner, and note-taker in virtual and face-to-face meetings with country teams, funders, partners, and others.
- And other tasks as assigned and agreed upon with a Geneva Global Education Team member.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in international development, public policy, global education, international relations, or a related field, BA or master’s level.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in international development, program design and management, education policy, or international philanthropy related to education.
- Strong analytical and writing skills in English (sample of will be requested).
- Solid research capacity and interest.
- Strong self-discipline in independent work.
- Good cross-cultural communication skills.
- Have strong computer and social media skills (desktop publishing a plus).
- Able to work 20 hours per week (minimum) for three months. (Stipend paid monthly)
- Experience studying or working abroad is preferred.
