This $4 billion infrastructure initiative is actively engaging with countries in the region to significantly boost Australia’s support for infrastructure development in Pacific countries and Timor-Leste.

Key responsibilities

This Australian-based role with travel to the Pacific offers the chance to shape the impact of Australia’s largest infrastructure investment in the region. Working closely with DFAT, Pacific governments, and key stakeholders, you will design and implement MEL systems that drive real-world change while integrating cross-cutting priorities such as GEDSI, climate resilience, and local content.

  • Ensure MEL processes and deliverables are effectively planned and implemented across AIFFP’s investment portfolio, enabling accurate data collection, quality reporting, and compliance with DFAT MEL standards.
  • Develop and deliver pragmatic, tailored MEL solutions that align with specific project, country, and stakeholder contexts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including DFAT, AIFFP, Pacific government officials, state-owned enterprises, and contractors.

Selection criteria

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, International Development, Public Policy).
  • At least 10 years of experience in MEL roles within international development, humanitarian, or public policy settings.
