Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range £105,504 to £139,882Role SummaryIn their role as Clinical Associate Professor, the candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and administration. In addition, the candidate will be expected to contribute to academic citizenship, likely to be demonstrated through generous, mutually respectful and supportive working relationships with all staff and students.Teaching will include: (a) development and leadership of major teaching programmes or equivalent; and (b) enhancement of the student experience or employability.Research will involve an established national and international reputation through significant original research work and a clear record of impact.Management and administration will include Departmental/School leadership and management activity with University wide involvement – for example through sustained high value research, knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, and public engagement or similar activities.Clinical service as part of an honorary contract with the Birmingham Community Health Care Trust.Person Specification

  • This is a clinical academic post and the postholder should be a dentist who has completed specialist training, is fully registered with a licence to practise with the GDC and participating in clinical appraisal and revalidation.
  • Demonstrated competence in Learning and Teaching and Management and Administration.
  • For appointment at associate professor level, the candidate needs to be in possession of a PhD and have a track record in research.
