This course deals more rigorously and more mathematically with the topics included in ECO202Y1 and is intended primarily for students in certain Economics Specialist programs.Estimated course enrolment: 50Estimated TA support: 140 hours (contingent upon enrolment and funding)Class Schedule: Monday 13:00-15:00; Wednesday 13:00-15:00; Friday 13:00-15:00The delivery method for this course is currently hybrid. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department.Sessional dates of appointment: July 1 – August 31, 2025Salary (per section):
$9,457.90 – Sessional Lecturer I
$9,930.79 – Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term
$10,121.77 – Sessional Lecturer II
$10,326.62 – Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term
$10,362.76 – Sessional Lecturer III

  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching over four or more years
  • Experience with remote or online teaching

Description of duties:

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
  • Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations
  • Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
  • This position requires collaboration with another instructor to ensure continuity in course content and student experience
