Position: Center for Academic and Career Success (CACS) Graduate Assistant

Description:
The Center for Academic and Career Success (CACS) seeks to assist students in achieving their academic and career goals by offering an integrated suite of support services. From freshman year through degree completion, our programs and services help students transition to college, succeed academically, and develop the skills needed to excel in their chosen career field. ** Summer work on campus will be necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform general office work, including acting as receptionist, answering telephones, greeting visitors, operating general office equipment, and problem-solving as necessary.

Develop and maintain campus-wide communication, outreach, and social media regarding programs and services.

Manage and authorize all student payroll for CACS programs.

Maintain detailed records and tracking of purchases for CACS programs.

Complete data entry and reporting.

Provide success coaching and mentoring to the undergraduate student body through individual/group meetings, workshops, and events.

Schedule and proctor exams.

Assist with student leadership oversight and facilitation, including but not limited to, Orientation Leader training, Peer Mentor & Tutor meetings, Supplemental Instruction (SI) oversight and observation, etc.

Serve as an assistant administrator for various systems.

Assist with planning and implementation of campus events, including but not limited to Career Fairs, Open House, Accepted Students Day, Orientation, and Welcome Week.

Assist with other duties as needed, including driving vans to support academic programming, or assigned by the Director of Center for Academic and Career Success.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution and enrollment in Paul Smith’s College Master’s degree programs.

Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.

Must have an interest in directly supporting a diverse population of students.

Ability to maintain a neat, friendly, organized, and professional office environment with an emphasis on service to students.

Ability to effectively communicate with professional staff, students, and the general public.

Must agree to confidentiality.

Basic computer competency and a willingness to learn is a must. Some knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred but not required.

Driver’s license and driving record acceptable to PSC insurance carrier is preferred.
