trailblazing a new path to restore and protect biodiversity by revolutionising how the
commercial and natural worlds interact. We are making significant progress at pace with a
network of Habitat Banks opening across England already and many more to follow in the coming

About the role

The Rural Land Manager will play a crucial role in the creation and management of Habitat Banks on a

collaborating with landowners and agents, and overseeing the process of onboarding land for
Habitat Bank creation and working with our delivery Team to create and manage the Habitat Banks
on farms across England.

The role requires effective communication, collaboration with internal teams, and engagement
with external stakeholders such as farmers, landowners, and Local Authorities.

  • Identify and onboard new land opportunities to establish Habitat Banks, liaising with
    landowners and agents.
  • Prioritise the creation of Habitat Banks based on Local Authority BNG (Biodiversity Net

coordinating with internal teams including ecology, project delivery, legal, and finance.
  • Take sites through an internal offer approval process, justifying and championing why it
should proceed. Gather and analyse data to support targeted Habitat Bank creation, including
reviewing local plan policies, agri-environment scheme information, and market sector reports.
  • Work as part of a collaborative project team to create the Habitat and deliver capital
works and then support the ongoing management of the site, liaising with landowners regularly.

What we need from you:

  • Experience of working directly with farmers and landowners, in a professional capacity.
  •  Experience in rural land management an advantage, but not essential.
  • Preferably possess a working knowledge of Farm Business Tenancies and relevant
environmental matters related to rural land management.
  • Some understanding of utilising Land Registry and other publicly available legal and land
    management data sources.
  • Project management experience would be beneficial, especially in the environmental sector.
  • MRICS or CAAV would be useful, but not essential.
