Job Description:Grade UE06: £34,132 to £39,355 per annumInstitute of Infection and Immunology ResearchSchool of Biological Sciences, College of Science & EngineeringFull time: 35 hours per weekFixed Term: for 12 monthsThe Opportunity:We are looking for a Research Technician to provide research assistance and technical support to the Perona research team, as we investigate the regulation of mucosal immune responses to infection. The post will support a wide range of research activities in cellular immunology, including animal infections, flow cytometry and molecular and metabolic read-outs. The post will also take charge of general laboratory organisation.This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week).Your skills and attributes for success:
- Ability to perform and assist with experiments, including tissue collection, immune cell isolation, and cell analysis
- Experience with flow cytometry
- Experience with murine infection models and immune cell assays
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Skilled in organisation and planning relevant to laboratory function
