Tree Health Data Officer

Scottish Forestry is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Tree Health Data Officer
to join our Tree Health Team within the Policy & Practice function. This is a full-time,
fixed-term role running from May 2025 to October 2026, with flexible working options.

In this key role, you will support national tree health surveillance efforts by managing and
analysing critical data. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and managing tree health databases and filing systems
  • Recording and monitoring compliance with Statutory Plant Health Notices (SPHNs)
  • Assisting in the preparation and coordination of aerial and ground-based surveillance
    surveys
  • Supporting the Tree Health Data Manager in responding to Freedom of Information (FOI)
    requests
  • Acting as the Information Management System Officer (IMSO) for the Tree Health Team
  • Coordinating training activities and managing the lone worker system
  • Handling enquiries from internal teams, stakeholders, and the public

We offer flexible working arrangements, with the role based remotely but requiring regular
attendance at our office in Saughton House, Edinburgh, and occasional travel across Scotland.
