Salary: MPS / UPSAbout the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join a dynamic and supportive Science department, located in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and nurture a love for the sciences, helping them develop a strong understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics.
As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for teaching at Key Stage 5. This is an ideal role for someone who is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists, fostering critical thinking, and creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential for teaching Key Stage 5.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and challenging curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a passion for science through practical experiments, investigations, and real-world applications.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, ensuring inclusive and accessible learning.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science department’s curriculum, resources, and teaching practices.
  • Promote a positive and stimulating learning environment where students feel confident and motivated.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities such as science clubs, competitions, and school trips.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department and across the school to share best practices and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Support students in developing essential skills for scientific inquiry and critical thinking.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field).
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and 4). Experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, or physics, with the ability to teach across all three sciences.
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.
  • A commitment to professional development and growth as an educator.
