Job title:

Customer Experience & Events Coordinator

Company

University of Edinburgh

Job description

Full-time: 35 hours per weekFixed-term: Until 31st December 2027 (30 months)The Opportunity:The central aim of the Paris Agreement – to limit the global average temperature increase to well below two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by reducing greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions – demands robust mitigation strategies. On a national scale, effective climate action hinges on pinpointing the key drivers of atmospheric GHG changes. However, simply tracking atmospheric CO₂ levels offers an incomplete picture of the responsible emissions. Two cutting-edge methods rise to this challenge: the collocated measurement of molecular oxygen and CO₂ isotopologues, offering a powerful lens through which we can quantify the fossil fuel contribution to atmospheric CO₂. The post-holder will develop the GEOS-Chem atmospheric chemistry transport model to describe atmospheric CO₂ isotopologues and atmospheric oxygen so they can be used to improve source attribution of changes in atmospheric measurements of CO₂. This post is part of two NERC-funded projects (see Job Description for further details). This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and is fixed term until 31st December 2027.This post will appointed at Grade UE07.1 which is £40,497 / within a range of £40,497 – £48,149.Your skills and attributes for success:
