Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant Position

Salary – £89 to £100 per dayAre you a recent psychology graduate looking for a role that fits around you? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting its next group of enthusiastic teaching assistants to support and nurture children with special educational needs (SEN). These needs can include mental health challenges, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.Patience and understanding are key traits for this type of role. You will be supporting children aged between 5 and 16, playing a pivotal role in their academic success.Position Details
- Start date: September 2025
- Work available in Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
- Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (may vary depending on the school)
- Monday to Friday, term time only
- Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract for the right candidate
What You’ll Do
- Support students with SEN needs, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
- Understand different types of needs and provide individualised support
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and classroom support staff
- Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe and supported
- Assist with tailored learning activities and materials, providing help and support when needed
The Ideal Candidate
- Someone with a passion for education and teaching, whether starting a new career or continuing in the field
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Experience is not essential—as long as you have passion and determination, we’d love to hear from you
- Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, whether professional or personal, is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
