North Pennines National Landscape

North Pennines Landscape Connections is a programme of work aimed at helping farmers and land
managers work together to make the most of the new funding schemes which will help Nature
Recovery and business resilience. At the same time the programme aims to support farmer hosts
to develop relationships with groups and individuals who have previously struggled to access
the countryside, and to build an active network of participants to support this process.

We are looking for an organised and reliable individual to join our team here at the North
Pennines National Landscape in Stanhope for a period of 15 months.

You will:

  • guide the development and implementation of a monitoring framework to meet the objectives
    of the Landscape Connections Programme, especially relating to nature recovery monitoring.
  • investigate and trial new monitoring techniques to fill gaps in our data.
  • support citizen science engagement in this programme.

You will need:

  • a degree or equivalent qualification in ecological, environmental, biological or earth
    science fields OR significant experience of work in those areas.
  • experience of delivering conservation projects and programmes, including environmental and
    ecological data recording, and evaluation.
  • experience of developing systems and protocols to support monitoring and data management.
  • need to meet the transport requirements of the post as the North Pennines area is vast with
    limited public transport.

Salary: Grade 10 £37,035 to £40,476 p.a. (Pay Award Pending)

Working pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
