Title: Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Ottawa (Onsite)We’re currently working with one of our trusted engineering consulting clients to find an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Ottawa team. This is a full-time, onsite position, suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative office setting and is looking to deepen their project leadership experience.What you’d be doing in this roleThis is a key intermediate-level role for someone with 4–10 years of experience. You’ll take ownership of smaller projects and lead portions of larger ones, with responsibilities including:Designing and analyzing building mechanical systems (HVAC, fire protection, etc.)Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment selectionCoordinating with architects, structural, electrical, and other disciplinesApplying building codes and standards appropriately to design and documentationCreating technical reports, drawings, and specificationsIntegrating sustainability and energy efficiency into your designsTaking part in project planning, budgeting, and client meetingsRepresenting the firm in meetings and managing small project teamsMentoring junior engineers as neededYou’re a match if you haveA Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)P.Eng. designation (licensed in Ontario)Between 4–10 years of relevant experience in building systems designProficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe PDF, and mechanical engineering toolsSolid understanding of building codes and engineering best practicesStrong communication and coordination skillsThe ability to take initiative and manage multiple moving partsAbout the clientOur client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a track record of delivering thoughtful, efficient building system solutions.
