At the earliest possible date, we are looking for a

Coordinator for UEM’s Regional Service in the Region Cologne Bonn (all genders)

including the cities of Cologne and Bonn as well as Oberbergischer Kreis and Bonner Vorgebirge. Most congregations are located in urban areas.

The position is part of a team of 7 people based across the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland. We are looking for applicants who have theological competence, pedagogical skills, ecumenical experience and excellent communication skills. Professional and international experiences and leadership competence are preconditions for the position.

Your Tasks

  • to raise awareness for the UEM community and the ecumenical movement in the church districts
  • to plan, organize and coordinate ecumenical activities in the region with international perspectives, including preaching, giving lectures, implementing projects, organizing events, and developing international programs
  • to participate in committees of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland (EKiR) and UEM
  • to work with Partnership groups
  • to build cooperation with bodies and structures of the church, motivate and cooperate with people engaged in ecumenical partnerships, ecumenical relations promoting global peace, justice and integrity of creation.

Your Profile

  • Theological or pedagogical qualification
  • Professional experience in network development
  • Expertise in developing innovative ecumenical strategies at the grassroots leve
  • Competence to work in ecumenical and international contexts
  • Strong communication skills and ability to relate to people quickly
  • German language skills are desirable
  • Preferably, previous work experience abroad
