Introduction
UNDP Viet Nam is looking for a National firm to provide equipment and build up waste collection stations (“EcoCollector”) at Phan Thiet and Hon Ro fishing ports for the pilot of waste-to-shore models, as described in this documentation.
The firm is expected to establish and equip all necessary facilities and equipment to support the successful implementation of the Pilot at the two fishing ports: Hon Ro in Khanh Hoa province and Phan Thiet in Lam Dong province. This includes responsibilities for installation and on-going maintenance to ensure the smooth operation and proper functioning of the EcoCollector facilities for waste management practices throughout the Pilot, in collaboration with Fishing Port Management Boards and local Departments of Agriculture and Environment (DAEs) in both provinces.
Ultimately, the waste-to-shore model is expected to contribute to Viet Nam’s broader objectives of reducing marine plastic pollution, promoting circular economy principles, and advancing sustainable development in coastal communities.
