Tender Opportunity: Training Provider

The Tees Rivers Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced training provider to deliver accredited herbicide application training for staff and volunteers across the Tees Catchment. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this catchment-wide initiative combines invasive non-native species (INNS) management, habitat restoration, and community engagement to protect precious local ecosystems.

Key Requirements & Deliverables

• Accredited Training: Deliver City & Guilds (NPTC) or LANTRA equivalent qualifications for up to 50 trainees over the project lifespan, covering:
  • PA1: Safe use and storage of pesticides
  • PA6: Safe application using handheld applicators
  • PA6AW: Application near or over water
  • PA6INJ: Stem injection application
• Delivery & Scheduling: Conduct training and full assessment/certification seasonally between September and March each year.
• Location Flexibility: Host sessions on-site provided by the Trust (for cohorts of 5+) or integrate smaller groups into existing open courses within a reasonable distance.
• Additional Capacity Building: Opportunity to outline supplementary training options (e.g., brushcutter, chainsaw, outdoor first aid, invasive species awareness) for potential future procurement between June 2026 and June 2030.

• Clear evidence of knowledge, experience, and capability in delivering accredited agricultural/environmental training.
• Inclusive pricing per candidate covering tuition, registration, assessment, and certification.
• Professional Indemnity Insurance up to £10m.
• Robust data protection, cybersecurity measures, and full contractor equipment provision.
• CHAS accreditation or completion of the Tees Rivers Trust Contractor Competence Questionnaire.
