Job description1-1 English Tutor Needed in Rainham – Year 9 Student (SEMH Experience Essential)Are you an experienced English tutor with a passion for making a difference? We are seeking a dedicated 1-1 English Tutor to support a Year 9 student in Rainham who faces challenges regulating his emotions in class. This role is vital in helping him achieve his academic potential.About the Role:

• Position: 1-1 English Tutor
• Hours: 2 hours per week
• Location: Rainham (sessions to be held at the student’s school)
• Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Targeted Support: Help the student improve his English skills, with a focus on bridging the gap between his current performance and expected targets.
• Emotional and Social Support: Utilize your SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) experience to create a supportive and understanding learning environment.
• Personalized Learning: Tailor lessons to meet the student’s specific needs and learning style, building his confidence and ability to succeed.

What We’re Looking For:

• English Tutoring Experience: Proven experience in tutoring English, particularly with students who require additional emotional and behavioral support.
• SEMH Expertise: Essential experience working with students who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
• Qualifications: While a teaching qualification (e.g., QTS) is desirable, it is not mandatory.
• Right to Work: Must have valid right-to-work documents.
• Enhanced DBS Check: Must either possess or be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
