Academic Appointments are working alongside a Primary school in S20 in Sheffield who are seeking a passionate, dedicated and flexible Learning Support Assistant. The role will be supporting a pupil 1:1 based in KS2Main duties:
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEN, promoting their engagement and progress in class activities.
- You will monitor the pupils’ response to the learning activities and, where appropriate, modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the class teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
- You will assist in the recording of lessons and assessment as required by the class teacher.
Requirements:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification – CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Support Teaching and Learning or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience of supporting pupils identified with having SEND/ SEMH and/or children working at below age expected level
- Have the ability to effectively manage behaviour using positive strategies
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
