Role: 1:1 Learning Support AssistantLocation: TivertonContract: Temporary, opportunity to become permanentWorking hours: 08:30 – 15:30, term time onlySalary: £90 – £95 per dayLong-Term Teachers is delighted to partner with an exceptional alternative provision that is dedicated to offering young people a fresh start through a trauma-informed, child-focused approach. We are looking for compassionate, patient and adaptable 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to work with students who thrive better outside of mainstream education.In this rewarding role, you’ll provide personalised support to help students overcome social, emotional and behavioural challenges while encouraging their academic and personal development.Key responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for students, addressing their unique social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist students in engaging with their learning, focusing on core subjects
- Participate in off-site activities, including outdoor adventures, visit to attractions, and exploring the local area.
- Support students in vocational pursuits such as construction, hairdressing or other practical skills
- Help build students’ confidence and self-esteem through encouragement and positive reinforcement
- Facilitate smooth transitions back into mainstream education where appropriate
About you:To succeed in this role, patience, resilience and adaptability are essential. You’ll need to be confident in managing challenging behaviours and empathetic in your approach, creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive.While prior experience working with children and managing challenging behaviour is an advantage, we welcome applications from individuals with the right personality, drive and commitment to make a difference.
