The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility, or off-site as frequently as needed or desiredThe Role:As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be responsible to develop analysis capabilities in space of installed antenna and antenna Radiated Spurious Emission.The individual will be required to interact closely with team members at GM Canadian Technical Centre and work cross functionally to develop standard work procedure, root cause analysis, compare analytical results to test, and identify analytical gaps.The successful candidate needs to have in-depth knowledge in installed antenna and EMC modelling. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate creativity, ingenuity, initiative and a high level of independent judgement. The selected individual will be working under a 2 year contract with GM.Key ResponsibilitiesEnhance the precision of vehicle antenna simulationsExplore effective antenna positioning and orientation strategies to improve overall antenna performanceCreate a methodology for simulating radiated spurious emissions from antennas and assessing the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of installed antennasRequired Education and Training :PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields (Computer Science, Physics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering) from an accredited, public, university within the last 5 yearsMust meet OVIN (Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network) Talent Development Program guidelineRequired Skills and ExperienceExperience in antenna simulation using tools like CST and HFSSStrong knowledge of antenna theory and design principlesExperience in designing and testing antennaKnowledge of radiated spurious emissionGood understanding of Electromagnetics field theoryStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsPreferred Skills and ExperienceMeshing tools such as Hypermesh, or ANSAExperience in analog and digital circuit tools like PSPICEExperience in PCB and EMC/EMI analysis using tools like CST, HFSS/SiWave, or FEKOExperience programming in C, C++, or PythonGood understanding of electrical systems, controls and component development / validationAbout GMOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.Why Join UsWe aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
