Reporting to the Director of International, the role is responsible for all UK, Ireland ELT, Junior Summer, Pathways and Online academic provision. The Academic Director is responsible for the coordination, implementation, monitoring/evaluation of high-quality academic delivery across all international programmes and is consistently striving to enhance Twin’s customer experience.Responsibilities
- Run the Greenwich London centre and newly launched Pathway NCUK programme.
- Review and assess current delivery and build plans to enhance academic quality.
- Ensure consistent delivery across all centres.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and professional development to all academic management and teachers.
- Work closely with Business Heads in Ireland, Summer, Eastbourne, and future Pathways to ensure academic delivery is of a high standard.
- Lead the Academic delivery of British Council & ISI Inspections in the UK and support QQI in Ireland
- Adapt and implement new teaching methodologies including AI.
- Assess current eLearning capability and develop new ones.
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing to support the development of short courses including ELT, Career Development and Pathway programmes.
- Support the academic Pathway sales, providing expert advice to the sales team and agent network.
- Have oversight of the quality assurance and management processes including internal and external inspections and audits
- Drive high academic delivery through rigorous assessment and feedback processes.
- To drive quality standards across the group, resulting in happy students, teachers, and support staff
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including GDPR.
- Ensure procedures, systems, structures, resources, and personnel are in place to promote the welfare and protection of under-18s and vulnerable adults.
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare policies are adhered to in all instances.
- Manage CPD and staff performance, including reviews and appraisals. Required Qualifications:
- MA degree in English language teaching and/or other relevant subject area
- At least seven years experience in English language education
- Experience in managing language teaching organisations/institutions and/or supervising staff.
- Strong organisation skills; exceptionally responsive and detail-oriented
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Good knowledge of the use of multimedia for English teaching and learning.
Education /Qualification
- Essential – First Degree and Master in EFL or TESOL
- Essential – ELT/TESOL subsidiary or equivalent + DELTA or equivalent
Skills and Experience
- Run and manage an education institution in the UK or abroad, preferably with multi-site provision.
- High-quality academic management experience
- Excellent key financial skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.
- Significant proven experience in achieving key performance targets.
- Management experience in working with other departments to help achieve company and personal goals.
- Experience in project management, planning, managing, and monitoring of work.
Additional Information
Salary: TBC per annum depending on experience
Location: Greenwich
Contract: Permanent – Full Time
