The creation of the Academic Excellence Coach role represents a proactive step towards strengthening our school’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. As a teaching intensive institute, we must showcase the very best in academic practice, striving for continual improvement.This new role is designed to drive this pursuit for classroom excellence through proactive measures such as modelling best practice, providing in-class support and analysis, and offering personalised coaching and mentoring across academic teams, for colleagues at all levels of delivery, experience, and expertise. To ensure positive outcomes for our students, it is essential that we can evidence innovative teaching methodologies, robust student engagement strategies, and a commitment to delivering high-quality education across our provision.We also recognise that many staff are already delivering to a consistently high standard, these posts will support the continued development of our high performers as well as showcasing their good practice and impact for the benefit of all. The resulting impact should be discernible in key metrics such as the National Student Survey (NSS), WhatUni surveys, and the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF27) and, most importantly, the experience of our students.Whilst it is important that the post holder demonstrates a consistently high level of classroom delivery, student engagement and innovation, it is even more important that they can support others to do so.The successful candidate will be expected toCoach and mentor colleagues at all levels to enhance academic practice and excellence.
