The Academic Liaison Manager will lead the team of Academic Librarians in four areas of activity: delivering embedded information skills support to students and staff within the University’s three Faculties; supporting the development of the library collections and enabling the integration of resources into learning and teaching; ensuring effective liaison between the library and the University’s Faculties, Professional Services and Academic Partnerships, including involvement in quality assurance events and processes; and delivering interventions and activities to support community and external engagement and the Access and Participation Plan.The post includes 25 days holiday, additional closed days, bank holidays and a local government pension.For an informal discussion about the post, please contact the recruiting manager Georgina Dimmock, Head of Library Systems, Skills, Collections and Archives:We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. The Academic Liaison Manager post is a based at the University’s Waterside Campus. Working on site is required according to business and student needs, but there is scope for some remote working.About youThe successful candidate will have a qualification in library/information science and experience of working in learning support, academic libraries or academic IT within HE or FE. They should have knowledge of recent trends in the support of learning and teaching, information skills and collection development, as well as being an experienced teacher or trainer.They will also be digitally literate, with good written and verbal communication skills, and with experience of staff leadership and/or management.QualificationsEssential:
