Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £12.83 per hour
Start Date: Immediate or after Easter 2025

University students and aspired educators are encouraged to apply.About The Role: As an Academic Support, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide targeted support, enhance learning experiences, and foster an inclusive educational environment. Your commitment to helping students overcome challenges and achieve success will be at the heart of your role.Responsibilities of Academic Support (Primary):

• Provide in-class support to students across various subjects, ensuring their academic progress and engagement.
• Assist students in understanding and completing assignments and tasks.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individual learning plans.
• Offer one-to-one or small group interventions for students who require additional support.
• Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation.
• Monitor student progress and report on achievements and areas for improvement.
• Support students with special educational needs (SEN) where applicable.

The successful candidate will:

• Experience working in an educational setting is desirable.
• SEN experience is a bonus but not essential.
• University students are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students with varying needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
