Position Overview
The Account Executive at WATAN plays a crucial role in managing relationships with our institutional donors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships, securing funding, and ensuring the smooth communication around execution of projects and programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and make a tangible difference in the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture relationships with existing and potential donors, partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, donations, and fundraising activities.
- Prepare compelling proposals, grant applications, and pitches to secure financial support for WATAN’s projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop project plans, budgets, and timelines that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of funds, expenditures, and donations.
- Meet or exceed financial targets for key institutional donors, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and multilateral organizations, through effective relationship management, proposal development, and stewardship strategies.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to partners and donors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent WATAN at meetings, events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our mission and build strategic partnerships.
- Stay informed about trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in donor relations and fundraising techniques.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials, communications strategies, and outreach campaigns to engage stakeholders and raise awareness about WATAN’s work.
- Maintain comprehensive records of partnerships, opportunity pipeline, and communications in the organization’s CRM (salesforce).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- experience in account management, business development, fundraising, or nonprofit leadership roles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and other relevant tools.
- Fluency in Arabic and Turkish is preferred. English fluency (written and spoken) is mandatory.
