We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant. The role is primarily focused on assisting with accounting functions in an on-site office environment. Great opportunity to obtain strong experience in accounting in the education sector.Responsibilities:

Assisting with accounting tasks to manage overflow

Handling incoming phone calls as required

Assisting with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy

Managing petty cash transactions and records

Carrying out payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy and correctness

Utilizing accounting software systems, particularly Sage 50

Handling journal entries as required

Paying attention to detail in all accounting tasks and functions

Assisting with funding and bank reconciliations, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Understanding and experience with Accounting Functions
Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Experience with Bank Reconciliations
Proficiency in Sage 50 software
Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries
