Requisition ID: 205961Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.As an Accounting Officer, MSD Security Setup, Contracts and Derivatives clearing, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the Contracts and Derivatives clearing Department in Canada / Toronto ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Setup Security codes across all Business Lines on a daily basis as well as maintain and update existing security codes as requested. Investigate and facilitate the resolution of any security code discrepancies with vendors. Main point of contact with vendors to setup global codes as well as investigate discrepancies. Work as part of a team, providing backup and support for other functions within the Contracts department. Assume new roles and responsibilities as assigned, driven by new and changing business requirements.Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Monitor across all Business Lines emails and Webpost for security code setups.
- Ensure all Charles River security codes are set up within the 30 minutes our SLA
- Ensure all security codes are setup on 061 and 191 in a timely basis for booking of securities in client’s accounts.
- Send requests to BFS security codes or complete in house, as deemed appropriate.
- Correct code details and descriptions according to requests and obtain backups as required.
- Investigate and resolve any security discrepancies
- Main point of contact for external vendors regarding security setups.
- Process Trade Correction Amendments or Cancellation requests for all Business Lines received through email and Webpost.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

The Must Haves:
- Knowledge of Broadridge systems (HOD, OnDemand, CDS, webpost)
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (particularly excel)
- Ability to provide reliable and timely responses professionally to direct inquiries
- Knowledge of Brokerage industry, particularly related to trade processing, balancing and security codes.
- Strong communication and Organizational skills
