Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the service industry, located in Muskegon, Michigan. This role primarily involves managing the accounts payable process using SAP software, requiring a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Process invoices received from vendors promptly and accurately into the SAP system
• Verify invoice details such as prices, quantities, terms, and discounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to validate billing and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors by processing payment runs in accordance with payment terms
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances
• Maintain vendor master data in SAP, including adding new vendors and updating existing vendor information
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoice inquiries, payment status, and payment discrepancies in a detail oriented manner
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to general ledger
• Generate reports and provide analysis as needed to support management decision-making
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as procurement and receiving departments to resolve invoice and payment issues efficiently
• Stay up-to-date with SAP functionalities and participate in training sessions to enhance SAP proficiency Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with check runs
• Familiarity with coding invoices
• Proficiency in data entry tasks
• Experience in invoice processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with SAP software
• High attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures.
