The work provides a vital role in the building our signature capability across the business to support continuous emerging signature challenges in the Submarines Enterprise.As an engineer in the Signature Team, you will be driving the Signature technical work and analysis in the team and across the business, as well as capability development across Rolls-Royce Submarines.The ambition is to co-ordinate all signature work in one team, whilst ensuring the business is remaining fit for purpose and driving a change in design philosophy.We’re a leader in nuclear power design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.What you will be doing:You will be conducting analysis and providing advice and guidance to the boat programmes to ensure NSRP signature targets are met.

• Strategic thinking to build on the business vision for the future of the Signature capability.
• Liaising with the boat programmes, customer and various stakeholders in the signature enterprise.
• Co-ordinate work of the design, analysis and testing teams to meet signature targets for all boat programmes and develop and demonstrate improved signature concepts.
• Provide technical guidance to design teams and develop the capability across the business as well as working with the wider enterprise to continuously improve on capability.

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience. Noise & Vibration experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrate interest in noise & vibration assessments.
• Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively on multiple projects at the same time.
• An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team, across disciplines and across businesses.
• Experience of Research and development, analytical and test validation activities.
• Desire to actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement / s (of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team.
