With our growing portfolio of noise related work across North America, you will play a key role while working closely with a highly engaged team contributing and maximizing impacts in fulfilling our purpose of “Improving Quality of Life” for clients and communities. This is a hybrid opportunity with ability to work remote and some travel to site and office as required.As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. And in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.Role accountabilities:As an Acoustics, Noise and Vibration Engineer, you will bring your experience and specialized skill sets in providing technical solutions towards noise related projects involving environmental planning and impact assessments, acoustic modelling, regulatory compliance permitting, monitoring and mitigation controls in the environmental and mobility (transit and transportation) market sectors.Responsibilities will include:
- Modelling of noise levels using CadnaA 4.4, Stamson 5.04, STAMINA 2.0, TNM 2.5, RAP-ONE, and EASE and vibration levels based on US FTA Manual
- Performing sound level measurements with Larson Davis Model 831, LXT and vibration measurements with Coco-80
- Site visits to highway, industrial and commercial properties to collect data, complete measurements and assist in assessing regulatory compliances
The successful candidate will also be responsible for participating in noise monitoring programs, liaising and communicating with clients and troubleshooting issues independently at the client site, mentoring staff to expand their understanding of the technical and business aspects noise related consulting services, contributing to the regional and market strategies for developing and growing noise services, and assisting N&V Lead in business development and client engagement, as appropriate including the preparation of proposals.Key Skills:Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills are essential for this role, along with a working knowledge of environmental laws and regulations. Understanding of noise and vibration assessment and management and noise and vibration monitoring are critical. Arcadis is seeking a candidate with:
- Experience in noise modelling/analysis software including CadnaA 4.4, Stamson 5.04, STAMINA 2.0, TNM, RAP-ONE and EASE
- Experience in vibration measurements including Coco-80
- Experience with sound level measurements using Larson Davis Model 831, LXT
- Knowledge of vibration assessment based on US FTA Manual
- Technical knowledge and/or experience in industrial processes
- Strong computer aptitude and skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation)
Qualifications & Experience:The Acoustics, Noise and Vibrations Engineer will have 2+ years consulting experience in the field of noise and vibration assessments, and:
- Engineering Degree with the background in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical preferred;
- P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) eligibility
- Valid driver’s license

The salary range for this position is $67,000-107,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
