IRC UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its headquarters in New York and London. Our team in the UK works to raise profile, deliver policy and practice change, and increase funding to help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England, a programme that is rapidly growing.

In Europe, the IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm.

The Purpose of the Role

The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC in order to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The main purpose of this role is to support the Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager and the Acquisition team to generate long-term sustainable growth and maximising net unrestricted revenue.

As the Acquisition Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in delivering Acquisition activities across a range of products and channels, with the key objective of acquiring new supporters and growing income. You will work across a range of digital and offline channels, with a focus on digital cash and value exchange. You will also support on new product, channel and audience development, all whilst ensuring all activity is in line with our supporter’s needs and expectations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Programme execution and development (60%)

  • Support the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive and the Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager in delivering the Acquisition strategy
  • In conjunction with the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive, plan, implement and report on revenue and non-revenue activities across digital and offline channels for cash, regular giving, lead generation, value exchange and mid-level products
  • Ensure all activity is completed within agreed schedule and budget
  • Identify and develop opportunities for optimisation and innovation within the acquisition programme
  • Deliver emergency appeals, including as a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee, ensuring speed to market and maximum revenue during activation
  • Develop or enhance campaign processes, ensuring partner teams and suppliers are consulted
  •    Work collaboratively with Communications and Digital Engagement teams to maximise fundraising opportunities
  • Work closely with equivalent teams in other national markets (i.e. Germany, Sweden, US, South Korea) and central support teams to ensure all engagement is coordinated, and where appropriate, synchronised.

Planning and reporting (20%)

  • Accurately track and report on campaign KPIs and make suggestions to maximise ROI and achieve budgeted income target
  • Prepare for and contribute to regular campaign optimisation meetings and quarterly / annual planning sessions, ensuring all work is in line with UK Mass Markets strategic objectives
  • Work closely with counterparts in Retention to share information and plans, and ensure that plans are aligned across the teams
  • Accurately track income and expenditure, feeding into the team’s monthly financial reporting

Insight, analysis and data management (10%)

  • Create detailed end of campaign reports and ensure all relevant information is documented and used to inform future activity
  • Work closely with the Analytics team to ensure all activity, including audience targeting and testing, is insight driven
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current GDPR legislation and ensure all acquisition activity is compliant

General (10%)

  • Keep up to date with the sector developments and benchmarking across all elements of the acquisition programme, to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments.
  •    Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards and adhere to all relevant regulation including the Fundraising Regulator, Gambling Commission and ICO. Ensure all fundraising and marketing is ethical, effective and supporter centric
  • This post may involve some national and international travel, overnight stays and very occasional working outside core office hours, for example during emergency appeals
  • Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager or the Mass Markets leadership team

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Driven and proactive with a solutions-based attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to produce high quality fundraising materials and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to balance both long-term and short-term activities and objectives
  • Numerate, with demonstrable, excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a complex and varied workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent IT skills with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Experience:

  • Implementing end-to-end acquisition or individual giving campaigns and activities across across a variety of channels and products
  • Using digital marketing tools such as Facebook Ads Manager and Google Ads
  • Developing campaign and story ideas that inspire action
  • Managing the creative process and relationship with brand identity through different channels and audiences

·Using a CRM system

Skills and Attributes:

·Language Skills: English (fluent). No additional languages are necessary but German or Swedish would be an advantage.
