It is!We are looking for individuals committed to strength-based, person focused care to join our team as an Addiction Counsellor. The successful candidate will work as part of the Addictions Services staff treatment team. Professional registration, in good standing, is required (OCSWSSW, CRPO).We are hiring four (4) Addiction Counsellor positions – three (3) within our Community Counselling program and one (1) within our Day Treatment program. Addiction Counsellors work intensively with program participants, meeting with participants in the office, via phone or videoconferencing. Counsellors are required to assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions under pressure with minimal supervision.Community Counselling is a community-based addiction treatment program providing individual and group counselling. Counsellors will conduct intake, assessment, referral and treatment planning. Counsellors will create individualized treatment plans with participants to address their goals.Day Treatment is a community-based addiction treatment program providing intensive group-based counselling. Addiction Counsellors work with participants from the point of referral, completing intakes and assessments, and facilitating a staged treatment program, which includes two-week program cycles, weekly support groups and monthly workshops. The Day Treatment team works collaboratively in supporting participants with their individualized substance use goals.** These are permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) positions with paid sick time, personal days, vacation time; group health benefits and defined contribution pension plan.Schedule: generally Monday to Friday daytime hours, with one evening shift per week. G class drivers’ license and access to a reliable vehicle required for some programs. A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check required. **Key Responsibilities:
