ADHD Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | ASAP | East LondonAn exceptional Secondary School in Newham, East London are searching for an ADHD Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 8 with ADHD(On the mild side of the spectrum). As an ADHD Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a year 8 child who has moderate ADHD, meaning he is capable at functioning at a high level but he does need additional support with behaviour and concentration.ADHD Teaching Assistant | Job Details

• Job Title: ADHD Teaching Assistant
• Duty: Working 1:1 with a child in a Year 8 class
• Contract: Full Time, Long Term (Full Academic Year)
• Location: East London
• Rate: £95 – £115 per day (paid weekly)

ADHD Teaching Assistant | School Details

• Strong inclusion team with external support from the borough’s educational psychologists, a counselling charity and specialist therapists

The ideal candidate:

• Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
• Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirement:

• Must have some recent SEN Experience
• Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
• Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with behavioural problems
• Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
• Safeguarding experience
