We receive complex referrals from across the South West and beyond, offering exposure to a wide range of challenging and rewarding clinical scenarios.Youll join a well-established team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners embedded within the General Surgery and Complex Hernia teams, working collaboratively across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.What Youll DoContribute to the development and day-to-day running of the complex hernia service.Lead and manage multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.Conduct telephone and face-to-face clinics, and support patients throughout their surgical journey.Play a role in triaging referrals, surgical admissions, and co-running emergency clinics with consultant oversight.Participate in the on-call surgical rota, managing undifferentiated patients and supporting ward rounds.Undertake clinical procedures, prescribing, diagnostics, discharges, and teaching.For trainee ACPs, full support is provided through a structured programme to help you achieve competency across the four pillars of advanced practice: clinical care, leadership, education, and research.Research & Academic OpportunitiesWe actively encourage engagement in research, service development, and quality improvement, with opportunities to contribute to academic publications, data collection, and collaborative projects.
