- As an advanced practitioner in Echocardiography, it is to independently perform a range of highly specialised cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult and child transthoracic, 3D and contrast (for left ventricular opacification) echocardiograms, assisting with transesophageal echocardiograms, performing accurate and reproducible measurements and quantification, interpret findings and independently issue (sign-off) final clinical-technically diagnostic reports, to a highly competent professional standard.
- To assist the Principal Echocardiographer to provide and organise the day-to-day clinical-technical services in the department and Community.
- To assist the Principal Echocardiographer in the supervision, training and informal teaching of multidisciplinary staff in techniques and the underpinning knowledge, in which the post-holder is considered fully competent.
- The post-holder will also be required to carry out other non-invasive duties such as ECG’s. 24hr tapes and BP’s, some administrative, environmental and housekeeping tasks.

- Higher academic qualification (BSE Accreditation + MSc).
