We are seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Clinical Nurse specialist team within the Rheumatology Service at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.The post holder will be an experienced nurse with expert knowledge and experience in providing advanced specialised care to our patient population. Educated to a masters level the successful post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner, making clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients with Rheumatological conditions. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Nurse specialist team, in conjunction with senior nursing and consultant colleagues to facilitate how best to achieve quality patient experience outcome whilst acting within clearly defined policies/procedure guidelines, and codes of conduct. Good medicines management and communication skills, strong clinical leadership, experience of audit and an interest in participating in research are paramount to the role.The ANP will be required to formulate the development of clinical guidance for aspects of clinical practice within the Rheumatology Service.Closing date: 08/09/2024Interview date: 18/09/2024Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be an integral member of the Rheumatology team working collaboratively with medical, nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professionals undertaking advanced roles and responsibilities traditionally within the remit of medical staff under the direction of the Consultant in charge of the patients care.Act as the clinical expert and professional resource for patients their carers and the multi-professional team.Responsible for leading, managing and developing a specialist clinical service and team.Responsible for leading the direction of the specialist nursing service to both support and complement the directorates business plans.Directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients within the service/speciality.Ensure the delivery of the highest quality, clinical effective care, and patient experience, prioritising and utilising research and in collaboration with colleagues in everyday practice.Provide direction and clinical leadership, working in partnership with the specialist team and multi professional team to enhance standards and best practice of care across the service.Promote and lead the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the specialityWork collaboratively with the research team to deliver of research projects within the Rheumatology department.About usGuy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK’s best known hospitals – Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield – as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.We are among the UK’s busiest, most successful foundation trusts.
