Being comfortable connecting with and building relationships with members, effective communication, interpersonal skills, a thirst to learn, and on-site safety experience, preferably in construction, will be required for success in this role.The ability to use technology with ease including engaging with people remotely, using various computer software, and having an understanding of relationship-based selling will be a great asset!If this sounds like you then apply for the Advisor opportunity today!Job SummaryThis position is responsible for promoting safety education and marketing of SCSA programs and services; for providing professional, quality safety related customer service, and advice to the membership and other identified customers; and building effective relationships with Saskatchewan construction companies and other identified customers.Key Responsibilities

  • Help SCSA members build an effective safety culture and program by teaching and influencing them.
  • Build relationships with SCSA members to understand their needs and determine how SCSA can support them through our services and offerings.
  • Market and deliver SCSA programs and services including promoting safety education, create and deliver presentations, assist with the development of practices/procedures and conducting site visits, site inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, orientations, safety demonstrations.
  • Assist in evaluating course proficiencies and audits and reviewing safety training course material and programs when requested.
  • Deliver safety training and presentations when requested and conduct health and safety management system audits when requested.

You will have knowledge in the following areas:

  • Health and safety management systems.
  • Relationship-based sales techniques.
  • Building construction industry, occupational health and safety legislation, and Workers’ Compensation Board policy.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing applications).

Education/Certifications & Experience:

  • Three years of field occupational health and safety experience (two years of which in the construction industry preferably).
  • Grade 12 and/or related industry training of a minimum one hundred (100) hours (industry trade apprenticeship) and/or journeyperson status.
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.
  • A suitable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Plus, if you have one of the below it is a bonus!

  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional).
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience in training adults and/or conducting audits of health and safety management systems.

Working Conditions

  • Navigation of construction sites (outdoors and indoors) including movement over uneven terrain, use of ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, standing, stooping and crawling as needed.
  • Sedentary office work, performance of repetitive motions and use of general office equipment.
  • Use of hand held power tools and safety demo equipment.
  • Some flexibility is necessary and expected regarding the hours of work.
  • Regular overnight travel within the province.

Hours of Work:
