We are looking to appoint an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to undertake research activities in space engineering and technology at Space Park Leicester. Building upon our rich, 60+ year heritage of space- science excellence at the University of Leicester, Space Park is a collaborative community of industry, academics and students working together to drive growth in space and space-enabled sectors, undertaking world-leading research with access to state-of-the-art facilities.The post holder will undertake engineering design, analysis and research activities across a range of engineering applications including Astrophysics, Planetary Science and Earth Observation Science projects as well as with Space Park Leicester (SPL) industrial partners.This post is available as either Junior Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer (Grade 6) or Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer (Grade 7). Job Summaries have been attached to this advert to demonstrate the difference in responsibilities between these two grades. The decision on grade will be discussed at appointment, to reflect relevant skills and experience.About youWith a MEng, MSc or PhD degree in a relevant discipline, we are looking for an individual who can demonstrate experience of mechanical engineering within space or aerospace applications, including hardware design and analysis. Experience of CAD tool and FEA software are essential.
