About the RoleThe School of Engineering and Material Science (SEMS) is seeking to appoint an Aerospace Technician to work as part of a team of technical staff to support a large volume of varied activity specialising within the aero department as well as in the wider activities of the School of Engineering & Materials Science (SEMS), supporting research and teaching programmes. The role will involve manufacturing components in a variety of materials to high accuracy, using conventional machines and ideally with some experience of CNC machinery.About YouYou should have:
- B-TEC, City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Technician Certificate or equivalent technical education
- Previous experience in the workshop environment with the ability to machine a wide range of engineering materials
Good knowledge and understanding of workshop health and safety, with a good understanding of the relevant regulations. A commitment to safe working practices.About the School/Department/Institute/ProjectThe School is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which comprises of five schools and two institutes. SEMS is a large School with circa 80 academics and around 50 postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1500 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 180 PhD students on the London campus.
