Agriculture LecturerPosition: Agriculture Lecturer
Start Date: 02/09/2024
Location: Greenmount, Antrim
Duration: 2024/2025 Academic Year (10 months); possibility of extension
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 37 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £17.09 per hourMain Duties Include:
- Planning and delivering lectures and practical classes: Engage students enrolled in HE Agriculture courses, covering topics such as animal/crop production, sustainability, and agri-business management.
- Monitoring student attendance: Ensure students are consistently attending classes and participating.
- Setting and marking assessments: Prepare and grade student assessments, provide constructive feedback, and prepare students for examinations while tracking their progress.
- Tutoring: Offer guidance to student groups and individual students to support their academic journey.
- Quality assurance compliance: Ensure adherence to CAFRE and Awarding body quality assurance systems.
- Attendance at meetings: Participate in teaching team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and stay informed on curriculum updates.
- Other duties: Fulfill additional tasks as allocated by the Line Manager.
Essential Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Possess an Honours Degree in Agriculture or a related discipline.
- Technical Knowledge: Be technically knowledgeable in the aforementioned areas.
- Background Check: Successful candidate will be subject to an Access NI check.
Desired Experience:
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience in the delivery and assessment of student learning is beneficial.
- Higher Degree: Possession of, or currently undertaking, a Higher Degree (MSc or PhD) in an associated discipline.
