Applications are invited for an AHRC CDA doctoral studentship offered by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership, to start in October 2025.The studentship will be based in the Faculty of Divinity. The successful applicant will work on a collaborative project co-led by Professor Esra Özyürek ( ), University of Cambridge and Ms Carrie Alderton, co-supervisor, and Head of Programmes at the Faith and Belief Forum. Additional supervision is possible from Dr Daniel H. Weiss (Divinity) and Dr Daniel Moulin-Stozek (Education).This practice-based PhD project will critically investigate approaches to structured interreligious encounter and exchange as deployed in the work of The Faith & Belief Forum, whose programmes span schools, universities, communities and workplaces. Augmenting previous studies of interfaith work, the project will include a unique focus on the interaction between such programmes and the goal of reducing prejudice and discrimination, whether in terms of religion or belief, gender, race, nationality or other intersectional identities.Further details of the project and its aims can be found on the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP website:Funding:The DTP studentships will provide an annual maintenance grant to cover living costs (£19,237 stipend + £600 CDA allowance pa at current rates) and university tuition fees at home fee level.
