Job Title: Junior Air Quality ConsultantLocation: Hybrid Working 2 days per week (Manchester)Salary: £27-£30k + enhanced maternity/ paternity and sick pay+ further fantastic benefits packageAbout the RoleAs a Junior Consultant you would be expected to provide support to a wide range of air quality related projects across the team. This varied role would include both desks based and field-based tasks, relating to both air quality modelling and monitoring.A typical day may involve assisting with the development of a web-based air quality dashboard on behalf of a local authority or could be supporting an odour survey at a poultry farm. Equally your day might consist of calculating emissions from diesel back-up generators, attending a client meeting to organise an air quality monitoring campaign, or even helping to draft new technical guidance and assessment tools.We are keen for team members to learn all aspects of air quality consultancy to assist in learning and understanding. As a Junior Consultant you would have direct access to multiple senior colleagues to assist and guide you as your career progressesResponsibilities will include:

• Undertake a variety of quantitative and qualitative data verification tasks
• Play an active role in the delivery of sustainability report assurance and data verification projects
• Conduct primary and in-depth research as required
• Support interaction with clients and relationship building as part of project delivery
• Manage personal resources and time, including personal utilisation, with guidance from line manager
• Support and undertake site visits to client sites and offices
• Provide administrative support to the team as required
• Keep up to date with current developments within sustainability
• Ensure a safe, environmentally conscious, and high quality culture

Candidate requirements include:

• We are looking for someone fresh to the air quality consultancy industry. Ideally, we would expect you to be recent graduate in an environmental or science related discipline, a second degree (PhD or Masters) is desirable but not essential. Additionally, some understanding of air quality modelling, monitoring or assessment within the UK would be advantageous.

• We need a self-motivated inquisitive problem solver. A Junior Consultant’s role can vary between deploying equipment in a muddy field to undertaking orthogonal regression to correct monitoring data in the office. Being able to approach both physical and mental tasks with enthusiasm when required is vital. We need a free thinker who understands that the obvious answer may not always be the correct one.

• We would expect the candidate to be a competent user of Microsoft Office applications. Advanced skills in Excel/VBA would be advantageous.

• The candidate would be expected to have experience of GIS software.

• Driving License and access to own vehicle
