About the role

This is a new and exciting opportunity to deliver an air quality awareness campaign with
behaviour change measures in 8 schools across the local community in the Launceston area.

As the Air Quality Schools Officer, you will report to the local Sustrans Project Manager, and
work closely with Cornwall Council’s Environmental Protection Team. You will build awareness
and understanding of air quality and encourage positive action to improve the air that we
breathe. You will achieve this through planning and delivering a range of interactive
activities to school children, including underrepresented groups. In addition, you will
collaboratively develop an Air Quality Toolkit which will comprise of a range of resources.

You will develop and maintain relationships within the school community. Administering the
recruitment of ‘Clean Air Champions’ in each school to promote the programme and develop
Sustrans volunteers to support the ongoing activities and events.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to one
of the Local Authority offices in Cornwall.

Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected across
Launceston.

About you

You should have experience working with children and young people, delivering fun and engaging
activities, organising and leading events. You will be skilled in developing resource materials
aimed at specific targeted audiences. 

You will be experienced in managing projects, working independently and prioritising your own
workload.

With the ability to build relationships with ease across a diverse group of people, you will be
comfortable engaging with schools, parents, children, and Local authorities.

We ask you demonstrate your experience of writing reports, data analysis and reporting on
qualitative feedback.
