Our operations help facilitate additional growth and training opportunities for all our Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, while maintaining a high-quality operation.Our Operations:Heavy Checks: Heavy maintenance checks on company and customer aircraft.PAL Airlines Flight Line: Daily line maintenance support for Eastern Canada’s largest regional carrier.Our operations are a fast-paced, dynamic operation includes all maintenance checks and repairs carried out in the flight line, i.e. between flights or overnights. This includes layover checks up to A-checks, engine changes, propeller replacements, and scheduled heavy maintenance.

  • Our team currently maintains both DHC-8 and ATR aircrafts

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/modify/repair aircraft and related components in accordance with company and Transport Canada Regulations;
  • Prepare aircraft for maintenance, repair, and/or modification.
  • Aircraft Management including: assisting with tug and towing procedure, aircraft defueling, and jacking up and down the aircraft.
  • Carry out and coordinate the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all aircraft and aircraft components including heavy maintenance;
  • Co-ordinate parts and ensure sufficient tools and equipment are made available to accomplish the maintenance and inspection functions;
  • Other duties as assigned based on role specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Required: Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed or have equivalent experience such as FAA Training; or equivalent
  • Required: Aircraft Maintenance License with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Individuals who have relevant experience and/or have completed an ICS course will also be considered
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, the international language of aviation.
  • Experience in line maintenance or heavy maintenance operations would be considered an asset;
  • Experience on the following aircraft is preferred:
  • Dash 8-100/200/300 and/or Dash 8-400
  • ATR-42 or ATR-72
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Troubleshooting skills;
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, decision-making, organization and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations is considered an asset;
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts and adapt to fluctuations in shift times due to operational and/or unforeseen situations.
  • Type Course Certification is considered an asset
  • The standard we strive for is that Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at PAL are Type-Certified on Company Aircraft. For all qualified employees who are not already Type Course Certified, we will arrange training and cover all expenses to get you certified.
