Job DescriptionAltaGas – Energy Marketing RepresentativeThe Energy Marketing Representative is responsible for overseeing a marketing book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Supply, Marketing and Trading teams. The overall objective of this role is to ensure book trades deliver on budgeted margins and supply costs, and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the supply franchise. This role is responsible for executing on market opportunities across geographies, time, and specifications.You will:Oversee a marketing book and generate profits and manage risk for the respective businessEstablish and maintain key relationships with both external and internal customers to support both long-term and short-term transaction windowsDevelop deal structures in line with requirements, delivering value to all involvedAnticipate counterparty position in the respective product/marketCoordinate with commercial analysts as needed and to develop the dealWork in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructureSupport a culture of responsible finance, good governance, expense discipline and ethicsAppropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the company’s overall reputationAdhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to youtransparencyMaintain an unrelenting focus on our customers and partnersForge & manage customer relationships and contracts for assigned areas of responsibilityIdentify, evaluate, and negotiate new business opportunitiesLiaise with various internal and external groups to implement projects that optimize AltaGas assetsSupport complex modeling, annual budgets and strategic plans for assigned areas of responsibility within the Midstream groupWork with a high performing team of marketers, analysts and schedulersMaintain a strong understanding of current news and events that affect natural gas liquids, natural gas, and crude oil markets and their potential impacts on AltaGas’ businessYou have:Bachelor’s Degree preferred7+ Years experience in a related role requiredrequired licensing and registrations as applicableKnowledge of respective products and clientsAdvance analytical and numerical competencyConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationEffective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterpartiesWhy work at AltaGas?AltaGas is a North American energy infrastructure company with a focus on owning and operating assets that provide clean and affordable energy to our customers.
