Roles and Responsibilities:Scope: Reporting to the Manager, Content and Collaboration Services (CCS), the Application Analyst sprimary role will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and system maintenancefor the Client Enterprise Database Archival Service on the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP Public Cloud). Youwill collaborate closely with end-users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of theplatform. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and apassion for delivering exceptional customer service.The Application Analyst will provide analysis and recommendations on process improvements and tohosting infrastructure, and include details of risks, dependencies, business impacts, interdependencies, andimplications pertaining to the methodology to be applied on projects. The role serves as a bridge betweenusers and technical teams, ensuring that applications effectively meet business objectives. A proven abilityto function on an individual basis and in a team environment is essential.Duties:Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patch installations, and systemconfigurations, to ensure the stability and security of the CDP environment.Develop and maintain technical documentations, user guides, and training materials to support users inusing the CDP platform.Work with Big Data and Business Intelligence technologies.Understanding of CDP Public Cloud Base and Data Services from architecture level.Support end user issues from CDP as well as infrastructure side and able to provide temporary/permanentfixes.Work on access requests, incidents and change management process using ticketing systems like ServiceNow.Should be able to administer and audit CDP User access and data management from variousendpoints/levels like Console, Ranger, Virtual Warehouse, Data Visualization.Upgrading/Patching Cloudera Data Lake, Data Hub, Data Warehouse, Virtual Warehouse, DataVisualization.Take backups of Cloudera Data Lake, Data Hub, Data Warehouse, Virtual Warehouse, Data Visualization.Should be able to migrate applications/data from Development to Production Environments.Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in SSSD, Free IPA, Azure IDP.Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in HDFS, Yarn, Ranger, Hive, Impala, Sqoop,Hue, Cloudera Data Warehouse, Cloudera Data Visualization.Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in Azure Kubernetes Services, AzureSingle/Flexible Postgres DB.Should be able to manage Azure VM’s, Storage Accounts, Private Subnets, Private Endpoints, CostExplorer, Quotas, Identities/Roles.Knowledge of managing RHEL OS, Salt orchestration is essential.Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval system foranalytical needs.Design and create CDP DataViz dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs.Provide depth and insight to data produced by the various teams and transform them into meaningful analytics for decision making. Analyze data and prepare information results. Gather and document client requirements. Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate. Equipment requirements Client will provide access to personal Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment. The computer’s operating system must be a modern version of Windows or MacOS that is compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred due to better compatibility. AVD/remote-related software will be installed on the resource’s computer. In the event that the Contractor s resources are directed to work remotely, the Contractor shall be responsible for providing all of its equipment, including computers, software, printers, supplies, desks and chairs. However, the Province shall ensure that the Contractor s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta s system. In the event that, the Contractor s resources are directed to work in-person, the Client shall provide the requisite office space, furniture and office supplies. However, the Contractor shall continue to be responsible for providing computers and software and the Province shall continue to ensure that the Contractor s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Client s system. Working Hours: Standard Hours of work are 08: 15 16: 30 MST, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province of Alberta Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote. Notes on Location: Resource will work remotely. Incumbency: This is a net new role. Standard Background check required The Supplier shall, prior to commencement of the Services, provide the Province, on its request and at no cost to the Province, with criminal record checks. Mandatory Training Courses: Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training.
