Description :Analyst, Account Management, Commercial ServicingVancouver, BCSalary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 /yr.CMLS Financial, one of Canada’s largest Commercial lenders, is looking for an Analyst, Account Management, Commercial Servicing to join our growing team. The Analyst, Account Management, is a responsible for performing a range of credit and underwriting functions across various teams within CMLS Financial Ltd. This position plays a crucial role in the post-funding management of the commercial lending portfolio, including, annual reviews, underwriting-related functions, and potentially loan maturity management. The incumbent will support the enhancement of credit and underwriting procedures and participate in team, departmental, and company-wide projects to streamline end-to-end processes.The Analyst, Account Management will be instrumental in fostering strong links between operational teams and post-funding credit and default loan management teams. This role also offers a clear pathway for team members interested in developing their credit analysis and management skills.About the Role

  • Cross-Team Credit and Underwriting Functions:
  • Collaborate with various teams to support credit underwriting and ensure alignment across departments
  • Evaluate the risk of post-funding inquiries by analyzing credit histories, financial statements, and other relevant data
  • Submit credit recommendations for account manager and Associate Director approval in line with the credit decision and authority matrix
  • Annual Reviews, Watchlist Management. and potential Loan Maturity Management:
  • Oversee servicing portfolio by conducting comprehensive annual reviews, watchlist management, and underwriting assessments
  • Credit and Underwriting Procedure Enhancement:
  • Assist in the development and refinement of credit and underwriting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to strengthen credit risk management
  • Team, Departmental, and Company-Wide Projects:
  • Participate in projects aimed at streamlining end-to-end processes and improving overall operational efficiency
  • Support the Servicing Management Team in various corporate projects, ensuring that timelines, objectives, and interdependencies are met
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Interface with investors and borrowers to manage post-funding issues, including loan security amendments, insurance claims settlements, and mortgage assumptions
  • Conduct due diligence on borrowers, analyze and interpret financial data, and prepare credit memos and recommendations for risk management approval
  • Ensure compliance with servicing contract requirements and maintain organized documentation for all loan transactions
  • Assist in training and development initiatives for team members and provide feedback to enhance team capabilities

This role is for you, if you have:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
  • High level of adaptability and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and SharePoint
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A university degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate, or a professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred
  • Experience in commercial mortgage funding, construction loan servicing, financial statement analysis, or commercial real estate credit analysis
  • Familiarity with mortgage law, loan agreements, and security agreements
  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting CMHC-insured loans and managing multi-family real estate assets
