Summary of Role Purpose:Description of the role:Role dimensions:The Corporate Intelligence team is looking for a Russian speaking intelligence analyst. You will help us grow our business and help clients identify and address key reputational and regulatory risks.You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging engagements, ranging from investigations and litigation support, integrity due diligence, third party risk management and ESG due diligence.Your role will include iterative research, retrieval and analysis of public record information and drafting of succinct, actionable intelligence reports. The main responsibilities for Research Analysts will include:

  • Conducting desktop-based research in Russian and other relevant languages. Using a variety of specialist database resources, covering a wide range of corporate, media, credit and regulatory data across Russia and other jurisdictions;
  • Conducting intuitive and creative research using a variety of other online and offline public record sources, especially corporate registries and databases in a variety of countries and languages;
  • Sourcing public record information from manual and offline sources, including using external third parties where necessary;
  • Combining the above skills to draft and deliver time-critical, succinct and actionable intelligence reports to clients, both internal and external;
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals to clients and supporting the marketing efforts of the Corporate Intelligence team;
  • Assisting in the tasking of external third party sources;
  • Enhancing the team’s understanding of geopolitical and business risks/ opportunities in Russia and the wider CIS region; and,
  • Supporting the development of research, thought leadership, and other marketing efforts for the corporate intelligence team.

Leadership & Management:You will be the team’s subject matter expert for Russia and the CIS region, acting as the go-to expert for key research tools as well as business, reputation, integrity and geopolitical risk trends. You may be asked to instruct and manage external researchers and contractors. You will work with other team members to ensure the team’s research, tools and knowledge are up-to-date in your region.Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:You will work with experienced senior Corporate Intelligence and wider Forensic team members, conducting independent research and drafting reports. You will have to manage your time to meet competing client deadlines. You may be invited to assist with client calls and proposals, present or contribute thought leadership.Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:Your key responsibilities will include the timely delivery of succinct, high quality intelligence reports, and maintaining an audit trail of relevant findings. You will be accountable for the quality and accuracy of your research and findings.The Person:Essential experience

  • Very strong academic qualifications, ideally in politics, international relations, languages, or other disciplines in social science;
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Fluency in Russian with the ability to conduct research, interview sources, and translate accurately. Additional foreign languages are a plus (preferred languages are Mandarin, German, Dutch, Arabic, Italian);
  • Demonstrable understanding of business risks/opportunities in Russia and the CIS region;
  • Some relevant work experience, which might be market research, political risk analysis, online research, or any strong investigative background;
  • Prior experience with research, analysis and drafting of reports and other deliverables to a high quality;
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving, self-motivation and an enquiring mind;
  • Strong team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure; and
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines;
  • Ability to cope with multiple competing client demands and to manage peaks and troughs of demand to ensure a consistent high quality service;
  • Ability to operate in a discreet and confidential manner; and.
  • Drive and commitment to deliver a high quality service.
