Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), the incumbent is responsible for providing strong project management skills to a variety of systems and projects focusing on streamlining and improving efficiency and effectiveness of the HRIS and HR related systems as well as working to leverage technology in a manner that enhances HR business processes.The incumbent works independently, representing the EASI and HRIS groups, as a liaison to the Division of People Strategy, Equity and Culture (PSEC) as well as Tri-Campus Divisions and Faculties to identify, prioritize, and document functional business and technical design requirements. The incumbent will analyze, evaluate, and communicate the impact of recommended changes to business processes, reporting and HR systems, and applications while ensuring solutions can meet stakeholder and institutional requirements.Specifically, the incumbent will be involved in the ongoing HR Modernization Program which includes the upgrade from Kronos’ Workforce Central to UKG’s Workforce Management solution. This includes communication, co-ordination, monitoring and tracking across our 17-plus internal clients for UAT, data migration, parallel testing, and cutover activities.The incumbent will also be involved in the detailed design, testing, and implementation of functionality within SAP’s SuccessFactors platform including Employee Central and Onboarding modules. The incumbent works with, transforms, and manages large data sets and its validation with Divisions/Faculties.The incumbent actively engages all business and IT stakeholders to support HR business process and HRIS design initiatives and projects. The incumbent will facilitate timely and effective communications between all stakeholders to ensure process and systems improvement opportunities can be realized. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing and leading stakeholder consultations and HRIS presentations, collecting and validating business requirements, and preparing relevant test cases.Qualifications:EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology, or business administration; or completed post-secondary diploma in a human resources; or business program combined with recent and relevant work experience.
- CHRP designation an asset (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Business analysis certification an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of HR business process and system implementation experience across one or more HR sub-modules such as workforce management, employee/manager self-service, employee master data administration, etc.
- Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge performing configuration design and/or implementation of UKG Pro Workforce Management (Dimensions), SAP HCM ECC Payroll, and SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Recruitment, and Onboarding)
- Extensive experience translating HR business and functional requirements into application functionality.
- IT project management experience including release management, process design, configuration, testing, and successful implementation.
- Comprehensive grasp of HR practices, regulations, processes, and data management.
- Experience within a post-secondary or public sector organization of similar size to the University of Toronto is preferred.
SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including demonstrated report writing experience); able to present business and technical requirements, concepts, and procedures to a diverse audience.
- Strong technical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Proven ability to accurately manage, organize, and validate large data sets using Excel and/or other relevant tools.
- Aptitude and ability to work under pressure and adeptly manage multiple demanding timelines and constantly changing priorities.
- Must have a very good understanding of current IT practices, data integration techniques, requirements specifications, testing methodologies, and real time analytical and formal modelling tools.
- Must keep current with rapidly changing technology.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus and obtain cooperation from users and different stakeholder groups.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage concurrent project activities and deliverables that may involve significant user validations/consultation processes.
- Functional knowledge of HR processes is required. Working knowledge of SAP HCM applications, SuccessFactors, UKG/Kronos, and other administrative management system.
